Power A Clean Future Ohio Discusses Ohio's New Solar Projects
The following statement can be attributed to Joe Flarida, executive director, Power A Clean Future Ohio, in response to Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approving new solar projects.
"Local communities are leading the way in building Ohio's clean energy future. Today, the Ohio Power Siting Board cleared the path for three solar projects in Brown, Clermont, and Hardin counties - an exciting development for Ohio's clean energy economy! These solar projects will generate enough electricity to power more than 100,000 homes, put more than 500 Ohioans to work during construction, and generate $180 million in local revenue over the life of the projects. Power a Clean Future Ohio looks forward to working with the communities in Brown, Clermont, and Hardin counties to build on this momentum.
"Ohio's leadership has been on full display in recent weeks and it is fitting to see it continue as we look to new opportunities in the economy of the future. As we face the challenges of today together, the opportunities available through utility scale solar projects can have incredible benefits to local communities. Growing the skilled workforce, training young people for the careers of tomorrow, and millions in local revenue will help us build more resilient communities."
