City of Stow Joins Power a Clean Future Ohio, Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability

(Stow, OH) – Stow City Council recently approved a resolution to join Power a Clean Future Ohio (PCFO) as the organization’s 51st member community. PCFO is a statewide nonprofit that works directly with local governments to provide technical assistance and support to staff as they work to identify and achieve goals in clean energy and emission reductions.

In joining PCFO, Stow aligns itself with a diverse network of municipalities across the state committed to reducing carbon emissions. Stow hopes to use the resources available through this partnership to improve efficiency while catalyzing economic growth and environmental stewardship.

“Joining Power a Clean Future Ohio reaffirms Stow’s commitment to sustainability,” said Stow Mayor John Pribonic. “Through this partnership, we are eager to leverage resources and available support to implement economical solutions that improve our community’s efficiency, resiliency, and wellbeing.”

Stow City Councilman Kyle Herman added, "I am thrilled to see the City of Stow taking this proactive step in joining Power a Clean Future Ohio. This partnership presents a great opportunity to drive environmental change in our community and improve the quality of life of our residents."

“We are excited to welcome Stow to our growing network of member communities,” said Cassandra Clevenger, PCFO Deputy Director. "We look forward to supporting the City with the tools and resources necessary to develop practical solutions to meet their clean energy goals."

Stow joins Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Green, and Munroe Falls as the newest PCFO Community in Summit County, Ohio. Nearly 44% of Ohioans now reside in PCFO Communities dedicated to achieving meaningful carbon emission reductions and working towards a clean, sustainable future.
